A second wave is on its way - Nicholls domination is just around the corner

There is a second wave coming; it is inevitable. All the signs are there. The increase in numbers last week; the increased media attention; the powerlessness to prevent it.

Yes, whether you like it or not, the second wave is on its way. Paul Nicholls is ready to reframe jump racing in Britain again, just like he did during the Denman and Kauto Star era. The heady days of Ditcheat domination are just around the corner.

That is not to say Nicholls ever went away, of course. He has been champion trainer 11 times since 2005 and you have to rewind all the way back to the 2001-02 season to find a campaign where he earned less than £2 million in prize-money.
