One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday

Trainer

David O'Meara has had a phenomenal season and four winners from his last nine runners before yesterday's racing shows he's in tremendous form. He will look to enhance that strike-rate with runners at Goodwood and Newmarket who have solid claims.

The standout is Orbaan in the 7f William Hill Handicap (2.25) at Goodwood. The seven-year-old followed success at the Glorious festival with victory at the Shergar Cup and was unlucky not to bring up the hat-trick at York, having been denied a clear run. O'Meara is also represented by Rhoscolyn in that race.

His other runners on the card are Animato in the March Stakes (3.00) and Escobar, who tackles the feature Celebration Mile (3.35). Away from Goodwood, recent York winner and big-field handicap specialist Summerghand takes a step into Listed company in the Hopeful Stakes (3.15) at Newmarket.

Jockey

Championship front-runner William Buick has had a fantastic season and will look to add more Group-race success as he heads to Goodwood with a strong book of rides.

Buick will hope Hoo Ya Mal, who was second in the Derby, will make light work of a weak field in the Group 3 March Stakes (3.00) to record a first win since joining George Boughey.

He also has live chances in the other Pattern races on the card with Star Stakes runner-up Fairy Cross looking to go one better in the opening Prestige Fillies' Stakes (1.50) and Jadoomi, who looks to add to her Listed success last time out in the feature Celebration Mile (3.35).

Horse

The last horse to win successive runnings of the William Hill Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes (2.40) was Take Cover in 2017 and 2018, but after a comfortable victory last year, Tis Marvellous goes for another success.

The Clive Cox-trained eight-year-old went into that victory after competing in handicaps but this time he arrives from a two-month break after an eighth place finish in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Paul Hanagan takes over for the first time since partnering Tis Marvellous to that three-and-a-half-length success and will look to maintain his 100 per cent strike-rate on him.

Race

A race sure to provide exciting viewing is the Paddy Power Supporting Cancer Trials Ireland Irish Cambridgeshire (4.15), in which 27 runners are set to go to post at the Curragh.

This is by far the hardest puzzle to solve with the majority of runners arriving in-form and with most of the major players involved.

Jessica Harrington won this race last year and has three runners, including current market leader Cowboy Justice, who was placed in a premier handicap at Galway last time out.

Ado McGuinness is another trainer who has multiple darts with five representatives, with last year's fourth Saltonstall looking to have the best chance despite four duck eggs in his last five starts.

Dermot Weld has one runner, Crystal Black, who finished sixth in this last year off 3lb higher and is another that can't be ruled out in this open contest.
