One key runner to note from each of the seven Newbury and Warwick races on ITV4
A busy Saturday afternoon in Britain is in store and the ITV4 cameras will be taking in action from Newbury and Warwick. Here are key runners worth following in the televised races.
Betfair Bet In-Play Handicap Hurdle
Amateur rider David Maxwell is one of the most enthusiastic people in racing and it is long odds-on he will be beaming from ear to ear if lands the spoils in this.
A point winner trained by Philip Hobbs, the six-year-old has won four of his seven starts under rules, although he is up 6lb for the last of those.
Despite that, he should still have a squeak for Maxwell, who is well on course for his best campaign.
Agetur UK Kingmaker Novices' Chase (Grade 2)
Nicky Henderson once described as a gentleman of a horse and the Seven Barrows trainer will be hoping the seven-year-old obliges.
Useful as a novice hurdler, he won well on his first start over fences but was beaten in a handicap at Newbury last time.
However, Henderson might still be thinking of a Racing Post Arkle bid at Cheltenham, though the seven-year-old will need to put in a strong showing here.
Win Bigger On The Betfair Exchange Chase (Grade 2)
Nicky Henderson has won the Game Spirit Chase four times since 2011 with two Altior landing the last two, who looks the one to beat again.
Not many horses generate as many headlines as Altior, but not many horses win 19 in a row.
That record came to an end after he was beaten by Cyrname in November, but a back-to-his-best Altior could light up Newbury.
Paddy Power 31 Sleeps To Cheltenham Mares' Hurdle (Listed)
It has been quality over quantity for Rebecca Curtis this season, who has had 18 winners this season but is operating at a healthy 29 per cent strike-rate.
A signature Saturday strike would be sweet and she has claims with , who has won four of her last five starts.
She seems versatile with regards to ground and will have no problem with the trip.
Betfair Denman Chase (Grade 2)
The team have their hearts set on gold at Cheltenham next month, but have a major chance of celebrating here.
Thought to be back to somewhere near his peak, the likeable ten-year-old won this race both in 2017 and 2018.
In order to secure a third he must beat Might Bite, who he so memorably defeated in a pulsating finish to the 2018 Gold Cup.
Paddy Power From The Horses Mouth Warwick Castle Handicap Chase
Richard Johnson's broken arm means Philip Hobbs is on the hunt for jockeys and he has booked Tom Scudamore for , who sports first-time cheekpieces.
He is a talented horse who has won six of his 20 races but has a career-high mark to overcome.
That said, the trip, track and ground should all suit the ten-year-old.
bolted up in a valuable handicap at Ascot before Christmas and if he wins Britain's richest handicap hurdle, a £100,000 bonus from Betfair will find its way to his connections.
The Hughie Morrison-trained son of Beat Hollow is up 17lb for that demolition job and has excelled since switching back to jumps after a useful campaign on the Flat, which included finishing fourth in last year's Cesarewitch.
