Midnight Thunder ready to rumble for Godolphin on Future Champions Day

The gates of Godolphin’s private training facility along the Snailwell Road were open to the Racing Post for the second time this year on Wednesday morning when Saeed bin Suroor’s team were in action on the all-weather after 30mm of rain closed the trainer's grass gallop.

The main event was the appearance of two-time winning juvenile Midnight Thunder, who formed the first leg of a double for Bin Suroor on day one of the Eastern festival at Yarmouth last month. The son of Kodiac breezed five furlongs uphill and could appear on the Dubai-sponsored Future Champions Day at Newmarket on Friday week in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes, although he has alternative options at York a day later and at Doncaster later in the month.
