Cheltenham heroes De Bromhead and Blackmore gunning for Grand National glory
Henry de Bromhead has revealed Rachael Blackmore will ride Minella Times in the Randox Grand National on Saturday as the trainer-jockey team who took the Cheltenham Festival by storm seek to round off a stunning season by winning the world's most famous jumps race.
Blackmore became the first female to be crowned leading rider at the festival last month with six winners, while De Bromhead did something no trainer had done before by winning the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup in the same week. Now it is over to Minella Times to write the next chapter of the fairytale.
Minella Times is priced between 10-1 and 12-1 for the Grand National, a race neither De Bromhead nor Blackmore has won before. In fact, no female rider has been successful, Katie Walsh going closest in 2012 when third to Neptune Collonges on Seabass.
