Names to note, including a winning 1,500,000gns Godolphin debutant
With our expert race readers watching – and writing a descriptive in-running comment for – every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland, there are three different categories used to denote those who are most appealing with the future in mind.
Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.
On their next start, the horses will be flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday.
Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.
Eyecatchers
Houi Cherie
Second, Hereford, 15th November
Made steady progress from the rear of the field without remotely threatening the winner. She clearly stays well and is going to do much better in this sphere than she did in bumpers.

Umberto
Second, Kempton, 16th November
A half-brother to a 1m2f winner, he attracted good early support before drifting out again near the off. The early money proved correct as he ran a mighty race in defeat, only giving way late on to the more experienced favourite on debut. He beat the rest handily and should go one better soon.
Inoui Machin
Fourth, Chepstow, 18th November
A 70,000euros yearling half-brother to five winners, he was the one in the field who looked capable of making the most improvement, his inexperience catching him out in the home straight before keeping on to make late gains.
Leissieres Express
Fourth, Chepstow, 18th November
Who'd bled from the nose when beaten a long way over 2m3f the previous time, ran by far his best race over hurdles and will be of major interest when handicapping, having kept on nicely in the straight without being given an unduly hard ride. He'll get further on this evidence.
Maso Bastie
Fourth, Kempton, 18th November
A half-brother to two winners, he ran green, became outpaced and got detached from the main bunch early on, but he caught the eye running on strongly in the closing stages. He didn't have a hard race and looks sure to benefit from the experience.
Did well in the circumstances
BlackjackFourth, Newcastle, 15th November
A previous C&D winner, fared the best of the prominent-racers back on AW on this second outing after a break. He's one to keep an eye on.
Persian Wolf
Third, Chelmsford, 17th November
Wasn't beaten far at Wolverhampton last time and this was another good effort as he was handicapped by a wide trip throughout. Despite that, he was keeping on at the finish.
Nick Vedder
Third, Kempton, 18th November
Almost timed it perfectly on his return to the AW. He was dropped in at the back and had plenty of ground to make up in the straight but he likes to pass horses and he finished strongly against the inside rail. He didn't quite get there, but he's well handicapped and has the potential to pop up one of these days.
Fourth, Kempton, 18th November
Had blinkers on for the first time and overcame her poor draw to sit just off the leader. She was slightly outpaced in the straight but still in there battling when badly hampered by the favourite a furlong out. While she rallied well, the damage had been done.
Promising
Winner, Kempton, 16th November
A half-brother to dual Group 1 winning miler Nazeef and three-time Group 3 winner Mostahdaf, he had the outside draw to contend with but got away well and sat just off the leader. He impressed in drawing clear in the closing stages on debut, and he looks a nice prospect.
Winner, Kempton, 18th November
Who cost 1,500,000gns, is a sister to 7f-1m4f winner Star Terms and a half-sister to three other winners. Although sent off a short price to make a winning debut, she looked unlikely to justify those odds for much of the race, running green and outpaced early in the straight, but she kicked into gear late and finished strongly to get up. She's open to any amount of improvement with this experience behind her.
