Mise En Scene 'in great nick' as Ferguson plots downfall of strong home team

James Ferguson is hoping the disappointment of missing out on his first Classic runner at Newmarket could pay a rich dividend at the Curragh this weekend, as he primes star filly Mise En Scene to take on a powerful home squad in Sunday's Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas.

A temperature on the morning of the 1,000 Guineas meant last year's Prestige Stakes winner was ruled out of the opening fillies' Classic of the season, with Ferguson describing the 11th-hour disappointment as "gutting for the whole team".

The young trainer is optimistic there could be an upside from his high-class filly missing Newmarket though, believing the Curragh could play to her strengths more than the Rowley Mile.
