Lorcan Williams wows Uttoxeter crowd with amazing save on Financial Outcome
Lorcan Williams delivered a piece of race-riding more suited to the rodeo or circus as he somehow managed to maintain his partnership with Financial Outcome in the 3m novice handicap chase at Uttoxeter on Saturday.
Having disputed the lead with Big Nasty for much of the race, Williams asked Financial Outcome to pick up at the fourth-last, but his mount did not get high enough, clouting the fence and pitching Williams up the horse's neck.

Williams then lost his left iron and seemed to be heading out of the saddle on the right-hand side of Financial Outcome. But despite briefly facing backwards, eyeball to eyeball with the 6-4 favourite, Williams displayed excellent strength and balance, hauling himself atop once more.
There were loud cheers from the stands as Williams completed his miraculous recovery, and despite losing his irons and all momentum, the jockey gathered up Financial Outcome before keeping on to take third.
