Leading 1,000 Guineas hope Homeless Songs to miss Newmarket in favour of France
Homeless Songs will not run in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday with Dermot Weld deciding to wait for the French equivalent on May 15 instead.
Weld feels the track at Longchamp will suit the Moyglare Stud-owned filly better than the straight mile at Newmarket, so she joins long time ante-post favourite Inspiral on the list of absentees for the first fillies' Classic of the season.
Weld told the Racing Post: "Homeless Songs will not run at Newmarket and will instead wait for the French Guineas.

"I just feel that she might appreciate more time since her Group win at Leopardstown and her style of running might suit Longchamp better than Newmarket."
Homeless Songs was as short as 5-1 on Monday when Weld first voiced concerns about her participation.
She showed an explosive turn of foot under Chris Hayes to land the 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown earlier this month and has an official rating of 107.
The unbeaten Tenebrism is 11-4 favourite for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas with stablemate Tuesday now into as short as 5-1 with Betfair and Paddy Power after support earlier this week.
Angel Bleu, whose odds for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas range from 33-1 to 50-1 will be rerouted to Longchamp for the Poule d'Essai des Poulains.
"He won't run at Newmarket, but he'll go to France for their Guineas," said trainer Ralph Beckett. "He's in good shape, but the formbook indicates all of his best form is around a bend."
