Perth Scorchers v Sydney Sixers preview

Perth Scorchers topped the Big Bash table this season and they can continue their good form in Saturday's playoff clash with the Sydney Sixers.

The winners of this match go straight through to the final while the losers get a second chance to qualify as they will face the team who came through the earlier stages of the playoffs in a decider.

These two teams were comfortably the strongest outfits in this season's league stage, finishing eight and seven points clear of third-placed Melbourne Renegades respectively.

The Scorchers will have to be at their best to get the better of Sixers star Steve Smith, who ranks ninth in tournament runs with 328 despite playing just four games. 

However, Perth have had contributions from across the team and look a more balanced side than their opponents. The hosts may also be boosted by the return from injury of Jhye Richardson and he can spearhead a formidable bowling attack.

The Scorchers have also won five of their last six head-to-heads against the Sixers and can move one step closer to retaining their BBL crown.
