Cheltenham Festival Tuesday: ITV Racing tips
Our Spotlight experts select their best bets for the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival
1.30 Cheltenham
Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle, 2m, Grade 1
Willie Mullins has won the opener seven times and the unbeaten Dysart Dynamo offers a good chance of landing a record-extending eighth win for the Closutton trainer. In a sizzling Supreme, Nicky Henderson's pair of Jonbon and Constitution Hill are also yet to be beaten under rules with the latter a potential superstar.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CONSTITUTION HILL
Scooted clear in the Grade 1 Tolworth and he's an exciting prospect for his top trainer
Why this horse can win the 2022 Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham
Sporting Life Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase, 2m, Grade 1
Edwardstone has reached now heights over fences this season for Alan King with two Grade 2 wins and a Grade 1 victory already in the book, but the strength of the form will be put to the test against an Irish challenge including the mare Riviere D'Etel, who aims to reverse the form with the Willie Mullins-trained Blue Lord. Mullins is also represented by Haut En Couleurs and Saint Sam.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: RIVIERE D'ETEL
Unfortunate not to win the Irish Arkle last time; can turn the tables on Blue Lord
Who has Gordon Elliott included in a mammoth Super Heinz bet for charity?
Ultima Handicap Chase, 3m1f, Grade 3
The Ultima has traditionally been dominated by home side with the last 15 runnings of the race going to British-based trainers. However, Grand National hope Noble Yeats, the well-handicapped Death Duty and last year's Martin Pipe third Floueur offer realistic chances of some rare Irish success. Ante-post market leader Does He Know and topweight Frodon are notable British hopes in this competitive 24-runner handicap.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: FLOUEUR
Promising 2m4f hurdle run at the festival in 2021; up-and-coming chaser this winter
Paul Kealy's banker at the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday
3.30 Cheltenham
Unibet Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy, 2m, Grade 1
All eyes will be on defending champion Honeysuckle for the highlight of the first day as the star mare attempts to make it a remarkable 15 wins from 15 starts for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. Appreciate It looks an interesting fresh challenger on what will be his first run since bolting up in last year's Supreme, but Honeysuckle will receive a raucous reception from the returning crowd should she secure a third successive festival win.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HONEYSUCKLE
Superstar mare; has won three Irish Champion Hurdles; impressive in this race last year
The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tips at Cheltenham on Tuesday
Close Brothers Mares' Hurdle, 2m4f, Grade 1
The Mares' Hurdle is packed with course-winning experience with Telmesomethinggirl, Heaven Help Us and Mrs Milner all successful at last year's festival in the Mare's Novice Hurdle, Coral Cup and Pertemps Final respectively. Burning Victory and Indefatigable won on the same day two years ago in the Triumph Hurdle and Martin Pipe, while Stormy Island has the most recent course win having landed the Relkeel on New Year's Day.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: TELMESOMETHINGGIRL
Won 2021 Dawn Run; conceded weight when very good third in Grade 3 latest; leading claims
