Silver Sheen, a winner of his last three starts and as short as 10-1 for the Pertemps Final, will miss the Cheltenham Festival and has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a leg injury.

The progressive six-year-old booked his place in the Pertemps Final by winning a qualifier at Warwick in January. He won by only a neck under Robbie Power but did well to win at all given the mistake he made at the last, and trainer Jessica Harrington admitted she was disappointed he was missing next Thursday's race.

Harrington said: "I'm gutted as Silver Sheen was one we all really fancied. Everything was geared towards Cheltenham with him and he had been in great form.

"Unfortunately, he picked up a leg injury which will rule him out of Cheltenham and the rest of the season, but he will definitely be back next season. I think he's a very nice horse."

Jessica Harrington: 'It's quite frightening, because I have those nice Flat horses this year.'

The Pertemps Final market is headed by the Harry Fry-trained Phoenix Way, who returned by a 383-day absence to win a qualifier at Huntington in January.

Harrington had more upbeat news about her big Champion Hurdle hope Supasundae. "He's in mighty form. I've been thrilled with him over the last few weeks," she said.

Supasundae is priced between 8-1 and 12-1 for the opening day feature.
