Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum will be aiming to end a domestic Group 1 juvenile drought stretching back nine years when dark horse Jash puts his unbeaten record on the line in Saturday's Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes.

Although top sprinters Eqtidaar, Battaash and Muhaarar and Classic winners Awtaad and Taghrooda have delivered at the highest level in recent seasons, the leading owner has not managed to claim a top two-year-old contest in Britain since 2009.

The omens are good as that victory came in the Middle Park courtesy of Awzaan, and bookmakers hugely respect the chances of Jash, with the Simon Crisford-trained colt rated the main danger to Ten Sovereigns – who will be ridden again by Donnacha O'Brien with Ryan Moore in the United States – in Saturday's showdown at Newmarket.
