Last year's Gold Cup-winning jockey Jack Kennedy has nominated Riviere D'Etel in the Sporting Life Arkle as the ride he is most looking forward to at the Cheltenham Festival and is hoping she will give him an early winner to settle the nerves.

Kennedy, at the tender age of 22, has already experienced the ecstasy and agony which comes with the territory of being a top jump jockey. He missed the 2020 festival with a broken leg and had to watch Samcro winning the Marsh Novices' Chase from the grandstand, but he returned last year to win the biggest race of them all on Minella Indo in the Gold Cup.

With Gordon Elliott bringing a powerful team across to Cheltenham, Kennedy has a cracking book of rides to look forward to and he is just 9-1 with Paddy Power to end the week as leading rider for the first time.
