ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the six races on ITV4 on Wednesday

Plenty of these will be hoping to qualify for the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival and there are some interesting candidates, including 2021 Grand National winner Minella Times and Cape Gentleman. Maxxum, Eric Bloodaxe, Maze Runner, Perceval Legallois and Popong come into the race in solid form.

Jack de Bromhead Christmas Hurdle (Grade 1), 3m

Flooring Porter won this two years ago on his way to his first Cheltenham success and bids to win it again, having finished second last year. Home By The Lee also had Bob Olinger, Ashdale Bob and Zanahiyr behind him in the Lismullen Hurdle and all of them reoppose again.

A Plus Tard was bitterly disappointing on his return in the Betfair Chase and attempts to get back on track on the road to the Cheltenham Gold Cup in a race he won in 2020. He faces a high-class field with last year's winner Galvin and Irish Gold Cup hero Conflated among the opposition.

Playful Saint was not beaten far by Cheltenham Festival heroine Love Envoi on his last start and could have a perfect opportunity to get his head back in front. Milldam needs to bounce back from two defeats this term, as does the Olly Murphy-trained Washington.

Grade 1-placed Gentlemansgame looks to be the best of the field based on his hurdles form and makes his much-anticipated fences debut. Grand Roi and I Am Maximus were classy hurdlers but have failed in three chase runs between them.

The consistent Dame Du Soir was an excellent winner at Cheltenham last time but must contend with a 6lb penalty. Ile De Jersey and Maninsane are last-time-out winners, while Tap Tap Boom arrives here in search of a quickfire hat-trick.
