ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the eight races on ITV on Saturday
1.45 Haydock
Betfred Nifty Fifty Achilles Stakes (Listed), 5f
Dragon Symbol hit the frame in the Commonwealth Cup, July Cup and Nunthorpe Stakes in 2021, but will bid to get his career back on track on his second start for Roger Varian. His rivals have a tough task, but Clarendon House was fourth in a Longchamp Group 3 contest last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Clarendon House
Slowly away when fourth in French Group 3; rising star who could be a player
2.05 Beverley
Hilary Needler Trophy Fillies' Conditions Stakes, 5f
Absolutelyflawless has been just that in her first two starts and takes another step towards a potential tilt at Royal Ascot at the East Yorkshire track. Parr Fire also brings an unbeaten record in the race, while Primrose Ridge is already a course-and-distance winner in her busy career.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Distinguished Lady
Showed clear promise at Newmarket two weeks ago; should progress; interesting
2.20 Haydock
Betfred Double Delight Handicap, 1m4f
Mahrajaan was prolific when landing a hat-trick last season and will bid to continue his progression for the in-form trainer William Haggas. Contact hit the ground running in two starts this term, while Forza Orta could build on a respectable second at York's Dante meeting.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Contact
Made the most of a good mark in no uncertain terms at Newmarket (1m4f, good); shortlisted
2.40 Beverley
bet365 Handicap, 7½f
Percy's Lad has been in flying form since switching to the care of Daniel and Claire Kubler and will aim to rattle off a quickfire hat-trick for his new connections. He faces a tough challenge however, with Wobwobwob and course-and-distance winner Ugo Gregory among the leading dangers.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Wobwobwob
This step back up in trip looks ideal; interesting off a workable mark
2.55 Haydock
Betfred Pinnacle Stakes (Group 3), 1m4f
Sea La Rosa rose through the ranks last term, culminating with Listed success at Lingfield, and bids to strike in Group company for the first time under Tom Marquand. The regally bred Noon Star needs to bounce back and fulfil her promise, while Lady Hayes brings good course form to the table, having finished runner-up in the Lancashire Oaks last year.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Nell Quickly
Suited by 1m4f in handicaps last term, ending up well on top last time; yard won this 2015
3.15 Beverley
bet365 Two Year Old Trophy Conditions Stakes, 5f
Ownership group The Woodward 20 struck at Royal Ascot last year with Chipotle and could have another live hope for the meeting this year with Whistle And Flute. Rogue Spirit was impressive on his debut over course-and-distance, while Chateau and Jm Jungle have shown promise early in their careers.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Chateau
Showed clear promise at Salisbury on debut; interesting with improvement on the cards
3.30 Haydock
Betfred John Of Gaunt Stakes, 7f (Group 3)
Last year's winner Kinross went on to bigger and better things and makes his return looking for successive victories. Sunray Major was a progressive handicapper last term but has not hit the heights so far this season, while Happy Power, Laneqash and Spycatcher have previously held their own at higher levels.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Sunray Major
Respectable sixth in the Lockinge; still improving by the looks and 7f might be his trip
3.45 Chester
ICM Stellar Sports Handicap, 7½f
Plenty of course-and-distance winners take on each other and there may not be a more popular winner than nine-year-old Oh This Is Us, who needs to bounce back to form. Boardman, Gabrial The Wire and Fools Rush In have thrived at this track before and could go well again.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Fools Rush In
Front-runner with good record here; course-and-distance fourth on return; should make another bold bid
