ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the eight ITV4 races on Saturday
1.31 Newmarket
British EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap, 1m2f
Al Husn is on a four-timer and the in-form Roger Varian stable now step the improving course winner up from a mile. Crystal Estrella, I'll Be There and Persist also arrive in winning form.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: PERSIST
Just two wins out of eight but suspicion there's more to come, especially on soft.
1.51 Ascot
Oakman Inns Rous Stakes (Listed), 5f
Manaccan has not been out of the top three in his last five starts and is dropped in class following a narrow defeat in the Group 3 World Trophy at Newbury. Established sprinters Tis Marvellous and King's Lynn should provide a stiff test.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: TIS MARVELLOUS
Four course wins, including this race last year; Listed scorer in August; highly respected
2.06 Newmarket
£150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, 6f
Amichi bagged a valuable prize at Newmarket last time and goes for another big payday for Ed Walker, who also runs Union Court. Skysail won impressively last time and looks the main danger.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SKYSAIL
Eyecatching first time and then won at Newbury; trainer complimentary about him.
2.25 Ascot
Peroni Nastro Azzurro Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3), 1m4f
Hamish sets a high standard following a mighty effort in second behind Kyprios in the Irish St Leger last time. Cresta comes here off a career-best Listed victory, while the talented High Definition tries to get back on track following three disappointing runs.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HAMISH
Excellent second in the Irish St Leger; strong candidate on ground softer than good
2.42 Newmarket
Royal Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (Group 1), 1m
Homeless Songs produced one of the performances of the season when bolting clear in the Irish 1,000 Guineas in May but struggled on her only start since in the Matron Stakes and looks to get back to her brilliant best. Last year's winner Saffron Beach has been in top form and is the likely favourite again, while the unbeaten Laurel is an interesting contender.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: LAUREL
Has only won two novices but she's bred to be top class and has been supplemented.
John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes (Group 3), 6f
Rohaan is back at the scene of his extraordinary last-to-first Wokingham victory at the royal meeting in June. Last month's Haydock Sprint Cup third takes on the consistent Commanche Falls and Al Suhail.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ROHAAN
Suited by C&D; very good 4th in French Group 1 in August; big chance if still on his game
3.21 Redcar
William Hill Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed), 6f
Seventeen line up for Redcar's biggest race and Cold Case bids to follow up his victory in Doncaster's valuable sales race. Barefoot Angel won a Group 3 last time, while Jumbeau has her first start since finishing fifth in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: JUMBEAU
Absent since her good fifth in the Windsor Castle; that form has worked out well
3.36 Ascot
Peroni Nastro Azzurro Challenge Cup, 7f
The James Fanshawe-trained Fresh goes for a hat-trick of big handicaps at Ascot and is fancied again after going up only 1lb in the weights. Safe Voyage was a promising second on Irish Champions Weekend and is a notable threat along with Symbolize and Asjad.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SYMBOLIZE
Second in this last year; arrives in form and has same mark as last year; very interesting
