Martin Bosley will hand in his trainer's licence after 42 years' involvement in racing due to the staffing shortages threatening the sport in Britain.

The Buckinghamshire-based trainer, who sent out his last runner on Friday, has trained almost 300 winners alongside his wife Sarah but has struggled to meet the demands of racing without full-time staff.

"We just can't get anyone," Bosley said. "I'm 58 and riding everything out and my wife is having to muck everything out.
