'It'd be great for racing' - Stradivarius team raring for Subjectivist rematch
Stradivarius's owner Bjorn Nielsen is gunning for a rematch with Subjectivist in the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup next month, with the race set to prove whether his horse remains the king of the staying division.
Seven and a quarter lengths separated the pair in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last Thursday but Stradivarius encountered interference at a crucial point in the race, leaving the fourth-place finisher's connections uncertain how much there is between the two horses.
William Hill marginally favour Subjectivist at 6-4 to prevail once again but the John and Thady Gosden-trained runner is the winningmost horse of the two-mile Group 1 in history, having won in four successive years. He is 7-4 to roar back to form with a fantastic fifth victory.
