Newbury fined for incorrect running rail
Newbury Racecourse has been fined £3,500 after a disciplinary panel adjudged the Berkshire track guilty of having a portable running rail facing the incorrect way during the course of a maiden hurdle run in November of last year. The race was completed and eventually won by the Nicky Martin-trained Bang On Frankie.
The case was overseen by an independent panel as part of the BHA's fast-track system for lower level offences, aimed at 'resolving applicable cases in a swifter manner and with less impact on resources and cost for the BHA and participants involved.'
