David Dennis insists there has been no falling out with Tom Symonds after leaving his role as assistant trainer and moving 11 horses to Matt Sheppard’s yard.

Former jump jockey-turned-trainer Dennis, 41, joined forces with Symonds last May, with the yard sending out its best tally of 25 winners this season, including 12 winners from just 24 runners in November.

However, Merry Mistress, who finished last of seven in the Listed mares’ bumper at Market Rasen on Saturday, was the final horse to run for Symonds with Dennis as his assistant. The mare, and ten others, will join Sheppard for the next few months.
