'We knew from early on he was very nice' - Gavin Cromwell excited about unbeaten Triumph Hurdle joint-favourite
Hello Neighbour, the unbeaten joint-favourite for the Triumph Hurdle, is likely to contest the Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown next month before the Cheltenham Festival and Gavin Cromwell thinks there is more improvement to come.
The Harzand gelding, who achieved a rating of 97 on the Flat following wins at Navan and Roscommon in the autumn, made a smooth transition to jumping when justifying 9-4 favouritism in a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas, holding on close home to deny the late surge of Lady Vega Allen by a short head.
Despite the slender success, bookmakers took a favourable view of the display and he is now 6-1 for the JCB Triumph Hurdle alongside East India Dock at the top of the market.
