More mixed cards the way forward says Listowel after harvest festival attracts almost 100,000
Listowel supremo Pat Healy has marvelled at the track's hugely successful seven-day harvest festival, which came to a close on Saturday and attracted just shy of 100,000 racegoers.
The popular Kerry racecourse saw 96,000 people through the turnstiles during the week but the attendances on dedicated Flat days paled in comparison to the jumps cards, which peaked on Friday's ladies' day with a crowd of 28,704.
"We got just over 96,000 people over the seven days," said the Listowel director, who is also a renowned photographer. "At one time I thought we'd break the 100,000 but we're still thrilled with the number.
