Fastorslow could be added to wide-open King George after Willie Mullins withdrawals cause ante-post shake-up
Fastorslow could be a late arrival to the King George VI Chase party after Martin Brassil said on Tuesday he was strongly considering supplementing his three-time Grade 1 winner for the Christmas showpiece, which will not feature ante-post favourite Gaelic Warrior after Willie Mullins scratched all eight of his entries.
There was a massive shake-up in the King George market when Gaelic Warrior did not appear among the 16 acceptors, with stablemates Il Etait Temps and Galopin Des Champs also high-profile absentees. Sponsors Ladbrokes reacted by making Corbetts Cross and Envoi Allen 4-1 joint-favourites, while Fastorslow heads William Hill's market at 4-1.
When asked about a possible King George tilt, Brassil said: "If everything goes well with him over the next few weeks we'll consider supplementing him. There is also the option of running in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas as well, so we'll run in one of the two I would imagine."
