Leading Albert Bartlett fancy and sibling to Stay Away Fay with 'a surprising turn of foot' heading straight to Cheltenham
Leading Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle fancy The Big Westerner will head straight to Cheltenham after her impressive Grade 2 success at Limerick over Christmas and hopes are high that she can enhance a fine festival record for owners the Mariga family.
Maskada gave the family their first Cheltenham Festival success in the Grand Annual in 2023 under Darragh O'Keeffe, while the recently retired Hispanic Moon, who is now part of their broodmare band at the County Cork-based Coolmara Stables, and Lantry Lady finished third and fourth in last season's Mares' Hurdle.
The latest talent they have in training with Henry de Bromhead is The Big Westerner, who landed a Punchestown maiden hurdle on her debut in November and followed that up with a stylish performance in Grade 2 company at Limerick when bolting four and a half lengths clear of her rivals.
