'It won't be easy giving a mare like her 7lb' - Lossiemouth v Teahupoo is officially on
The blockbuster showdown between the Champion Hurdle and Stayers' Hurdle favourites is officially on after Lossiemouth and Teahupoo were both left in the Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
There will be a maximum field of four in the Grade 1 event as Beacon Edge and Maxxum were the only other acceptors at Tuesday's five-day stage, but Gordon Elliott is under no illusions about the magnitude of the task facing Teahupoo.
Last season's Stayers' Hurdle hero, who is no bigger than 2-1 to repeat the feat in 2025, will bid for a Hatton's Grace hat-trick on Sunday. He will join legends like Limestone Lad, Solerina, Apple's Jade and Honeysuckle if he achieves a third success.
