McCoy: 'He was a brilliant jockey in every department - and Archie's favourite'
Sir Anthony McCoy, whose role in the green and gold silks Barry Geraghty so ably filled when the man known as 'Champ' stepped away from the spotlight, has led the tributes to his retiring replacement, labelling him one of the best jump jockeys of all time.
McCoy rode against Geraghty for the majority of his career and described his successor as his natural replacement for main employer JP McManus.
"He's had a brilliant career," said McCoy. "Like me he probably can't believe how good it was, but he was a brilliant jockey in every department. He's a great lad and he had the full package. He's up there with the very best jockeys we've ever seen riding over jumps."
