Sha Tin races on after last-minute green light amid new coronavirus restrictions
Racing in Hong Kong survived a late scare on Sunday as the meeting at Sha Tin had to secure last-minute approval from the government.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club's ability to continue racing was threatened by new restrictions limiting public gatherings to a maximum of four people in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Despite the crackdown, HKJC officials were optimistic they would be able to continue racing as there are no restrictions placed on how many people can congregate in a workplace and by stopping owners from attending, they were able to argue it fell into that category.
A ten-race card began at 12.45pm local time with only stable staff, licensed persons and racing media allowed to be attend.
