For the second weekend in succession Andre Fabre claimed a Group 1 prize with an unbeaten colt as Victor Ludorum retained his perfect record in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

Two impressive wins in lesser company had marked Victor Ludorum down as capable of mixing it in good Group races and he proved the point by justifying favouritism in the style of one with more to offer again.

In terms of depth, this year's renewal looked light for the grade. A slow pace and compressed finish perhaps prevented the winner the chance to advertise his ability further, a fact reflected in a winning RPR of 113+ which failed to make an impact on this year's leading two-year-olds.
