Cheers! Fans of Winx can toast the wondermare with special beer
A beer worthy of champions is set to be the toast of Moonee Valley later this month when cans of Carlton Draught will honour Australian supermare Winx.
The world's best racehorse, according to the Longines World Rankings, is in line to bid for an historic fourth Cox Plate win next month, and the limited edition cans will be in demand across the racecourse where they will be available from September 28, and from Victorian bottle shops by mid-October.
The cans will sport the blue Winx silks and a large white W will catch the eye, as well as featuring her Cox Plate wins and a jockey riding the Carlton Draught Clydesdale logo.
Winx landed a 27th consecutive success and 20th top-level victory at Randwick on Saturday and is a best-priced 4-7 with Paddy Power to secure a Cox Plate four-timer on October 27.
Michael Browell, chief executive of Moonee Valley Racing Club, said: "The story of Winx and her remarkable career to date has captured the imagination of the nation.
“All eyes will be on the Valley on October 27 to see if she can achieve what's never been done before, win a fourth W S Cox Plate. Fans can cheer her on with a Winx can in hand."
