Campanelle all set to take on Starman and co in Maurice de Gheest cracker
Wesley Ward says it is "all systems go" for dual Royal Ascot heroine Campanelle's next European mission in Sunday's LARC Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville, where she will take on July Cup winner Starman.
Campanelle featured among 12 sprinters left in the €380,000 feature after Thursday's penultimate declaration stage and may also face Champions Sprint winner Glen Shiel and first two home in the Prix Jean Prat, Laws Of Indices and Thunder Moon.
Last seen when awarded the Commonwealth Cup in the stewards' room at Ascot after Dragon Symbol was adjudged to have taken her ground in the final furlong, Campanelle is likely to prove an even tougher nut to crack given Ascot was her first start since November.
