'We're still mulling it over' - Melbourne Cup mission not yet certain for Ebor heroine Magical Zoe
Magical Zoe is not yet certain to make the trip to Australia for the Melbourne Cup, with connections still mulling over the move for the emphatic Ebor winner, who is priced between 12-1 and 16-1 to give Ireland a fifth win in the famous Flemington feature.
The versatile mare, who was runner-up in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, landed a monster plunge in the Ebor when scoring at 11-2 under a superb ride by Billy Lee, having been as big as 16-1 a fortnight before the race.
The Ebor was a 'win and you're in' race for the Melbourne Cup, but trainer Henry de Bromhead pointed out the six-year-old has been busy since September last year, when she commenced the last jumps campaign with a stylish success in a Listed hurdle at Gowran Park.
