'He's in good form' - quiet confidence in Japanese Arc challenger Deep Bond

Connections of Japanese colt Deep Bond on Wednesday declared themselves happy with their Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe contender, who is on course to run in Sunday's Prix Foy at Longchamp.

Two years ago the Prix Foy shrugged off its unwanted tag as bridesmaid among the three Longchamp Arc trials, with Deep Bond aiming to emulate Waldgeist by using Sunday's race as a springboard to the Arc itself.

On Wednesday morning the four-year-old enjoyed a solo hit-out on Chantilly's Les Aigles turf gallop under the guidance of big-race partner Cristian Demuro, who had sat on him for the first time last week.
