For many racing fans, Thursdays in the early part of the year are all about the Dubai Carnival so it is good to see normal service resuming at Meydan this week.
Last season's UAE campaign was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic in the build-up to the Dubai World Cup, and the carnival is later than usual to get started this time around, plus it has been reduced by three fixtures.
However, in these strange times it's just good that the show is on at all and there is much to look forward to again.
