Hugo Palmer is sick of finishing runner-up in Group 1s and is desperate to win Saturday's British Champions Sprint (2.00) with Brad The Brief, on the back of the "best piece of work" he has seen the five-year-old produce.

Palmer has had a frustrating year with Brad The Brief, who has been deprived of his favourite ground conditions since producing a career-best effort to win the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh in May.

Palmer took over from Tom Dascombe at Michael Owen's Manor House Stables this year and Brad The Brief has been lighting up the turf in Cheshire ahead of his Ascot assignment.
