'I'm privileged to have him' - McGuinness maps out world tour for A Case Of You

Ado McGuinness is still living on cloud nine after A Case Of You's scintillating performance in the Al Quoz Sprint on Dubai World Cup night and he has mapped out the remainder of the campaign for his star sprinter which will culminate with an audacious bid for Breeders' Cup glory.

A Case Of You's earnings crashed through the £1 million mark with victory at Meydan last month, a career-best effort which saw him burn off odds-on favourite Man Of Promise inside the final furlong under Ronan Whelan. Now that Meydan has been mastered, McGuinness wants to conquer the rest of the world.

"He's a legend and I'm privileged to be training a horse like him. He's bringing me to places I never thought I could go," McGuinness said.

Those places could include Keeneland next November as McGuinness is convinced the Breeders' Cup Sprint is right up A Case Of You's street. Before then, he has Royal Ascot on his agenda, a race in front of home fans at the Curragh and defending his Abbaye crown on Arc weekend at Longchamp.

Mapping out the rest of his season, McGuinness said: "I think the Breeders' Cup over five and a half will be right up his alley so the plan is to head there in November.

"He could go to the Greenlands on Guineas weekend at the Curragh next, but we'll see how he is over the next few weeks first. He'd have a 3lb penalty there. We could go straight to Royal Ascot as well – it will depend on the weather and the ground as to whether he'll go to the King's Stand or the Diamond Jubilee there.

"Then there is the Flying Five at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend followed by the Abbaye and then on to America. We don't want him to get unfit on us. He got very heavy on us when he came back from America at the end of last year so I don't want that to happen again."

A Case Of You now has an official rating of 117 and is a dual Group 1 winner. He is still only four and McGuinness thinks there could be even more to come.

He said: "He has strengthened up a lot from three to four and he's really come on great. I do think he has matured a lot and he's getting better so it's very exciting.

"Dubai was brilliant and we had a night we'll never forget. It was different to Paris. We were more hopeful than confident going into the Abbaye whereas we knew he had a serious chance in Meydan and it all worked out great. He's maturing all the time."
