Patrick Mullins, the most successful amateur of all time who has won three of the last four Guinness Galway Hurdles, has said his main mission at Galway next week is to win the prestigious Connacht Hotel Handicap (6.40) on the opening night.

The 2m1f Flat race, worth €110,000 in prize-money, is confined to amateur riders but Mullins has yet to win it despite his father Willie sending out the winner in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Grade 1 winner over hurdles is 7-2 favourite with Paddy Power and Mullins thinks she has a great profile.
