Apprentice to miss ride on Lincoln favourite after breaking foot in gallops fall
Apprentice Adam Farragher has been denied the chance to ride favourite Mujtaba for his boss William Haggas in Saturday's SBK Lincoln (3.35) by a fall on the gallops.
The 5lb claimer had been hoping to land the biggest winner of his career in the £100,000 showpiece at Doncaster on Saturday but will now watch the race from home with his foot in plaster.
"I had a fall on a two-year-old on Thursday and I landed on my ankle and broke a bone in my foot," said Farragher, 22.
"I'm not in too much pain, it's in a cast now and it's not too bad. I think I'm a lot sorer about missing the ride in the Lincoln. That hurts a lot more than the leg.
"I was looking forward to the opportunity to ride such a nice horse in a race like that for the boss and the Shadwell team."

Mujtaba is unbeaten in three runs and has been described as a potential Group horse by Haggas, whom Farragher joined from his native Ireland last year.
The rider expects to find out how long he is likely to be sidelined when he goes for a scan on his broken foot next week.
"They're not really sure yet the full extent of the damage, whether it will require surgery or not. If it does, I could be out for a while. If not, it might not be too bad. I'll have to wait and see how it plays out next week.
"But there are plenty of people in the world worse off than me, with all the things going on at the minute. It's a leg, it will heal and it will be forgotten about – though I wish the timing was a bit better!"
Cieren Fallon takes Farragher's place on Mujtaba, who is a best-priced 7-2 favourite to give Haggas a record fifth Lincoln victory on Saturday.
