'He's unbeaten on his seasonal return' - our experts on Saturday's Lincoln
Saturday's Unibet Lincoln (3.10) is the highlight on the opening day of the Flat turf season in Britain and has attracted a full field, including Eastern World, Haqeeqy and River Nymph. Three of our writers give their verdict on the potential outcome of the race . . .
He appears well treated off a mark of 98
I want to oppose the two well-bred four-year-olds at the head of the market – they look short enough in a competitive Lincoln. It is crucial to find some value in a race that rarely rewards favourite-backers.
Brunch features high on my shortlist with further improvement likely this season, but I landed on Danyah for Owen Burrows. This son of Invincible Spirit boasts a similar profile to the Charlie Appleby-trained favourite Eastern World but can be backed at four times the price.
He is unbeaten on his seasonal reappearance (two from two), including a three-length romp at this track last June, and appears well treated off a mark of 98. Good ground is ideal.

More to come so 16-1 looks too big
The last two Lincolns are the only two in the last ten to have been won by horses at single-figure prices and, while the head of the market looks strong again this year, there is value to be found elsewhere.
Kynren has excellent course form from last season and looks well handicapped now back to his last winning mark, but Grove Ferry looks of real interest for Andrew Balding.
He is race-fit after winning at Lingfield in February and ran an excellent race at Doncaster to close last season. His mark is steadily climbing and he carries a penalty but there should be more to come and a price of 16-1 looks too big to me.

7lb claim could well make the difference
Newmarket has a strong hand in this year’s Lincoln, of which Haqeeqy looks the most forward on the gallops in recent weeks and will not lack for fitness on his reappearance.
The four-year-old could well launch the new John and Thady Gosden joint operation in style and his middle draw in stall ten means apprentice Benoit de la Sayette can go either way from the gate.
The 7lb claimer will have to learn fast on his first outing in such a race but his claim could well make the difference between winning and losing.
Of our other runners, Richard Spencer’s Revich could go well at a huge price and he looked in good nick when I caught up with him on the Warren Hill grass canter on Thursday morning.
