Jessica Harrington has confirmed she was one of a number of top trainers visited this week as the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) continued its interest in racing matters by undertaking joint unannounced inspections with the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board on various thoroughbred premises.

While neither DAFM nor the IHRB are willing to confirm details of the inspections, Harrington said that her stable was inspected by the authorities. It is understood a number of leading training yards and farms were visited.

One of Harrington's fillies was present at Ballintogher Stud in Monasterevin when DAFM and the gardai seized unlicensed remedies that were in the possession of therapist John Warwick last Tuesday week. Her yard in Moone, County Kildare was also inspected by the IHRB the same morning as DAFM's Monasterevin raid.
