Gordon Elliott thinks Savills Chase contender Galvin is the best equipped of his festive runners when it comes to coping with the unseasonably quick going at Leopardstown, as he called on officials to ensure the ground is safe for the track's Christmas festival.

Galvin is a general 6-1 chance to snare a breakthrough Grade 1 in the feature race of the Dublin track's four-day gala on December 28, when Elliott will also be represented by Delta Work, who will be bidding to regain his 2019 crown after a pleasing comeback effort at Down Royal.

"Galvin is one who will love the ground," Elliott said on Monday. "Davy Russell rode him the other day and was very happy with him. He's coming into this off the back of a lovely preparation and I'm really looking forward to running him. These are the races you want to win as a trainer and hopefully with Galvin and Delta Work we have a good chance."
