Gordon Elliott: I genuinely hope Envoi Allen will win the Gold Cup some day
A "heartbroken" Gordon Elliott still hopes Envoi Allen can win the Cheltenham Gold Cup some day despite the fact the unbeaten superstar now has a new home with Henry de Bromhead after Cheveley Park Stud removed all eight of their horses from Elliott's Cullentra House stable on Tuesday.
Speaking to the Racing Post on Tuesday evening, Elliott said it was an honour and a privilege to train horses for Cheveley Park and wished them well with all their future endeavours.
Elliott said: "I'm absolutely heartbroken. I adored Envoi Allen and loved everything about him – his demeanour, his attitude, his ability. He was the sort of horse a trainer gets once in a lifetime and I was absolutely blessed to train him for the last couple of years.
