Gigginstown: Tiger Roll far from retired and could stay in training next season

Eddie O’Leary said the dream of Tiger Roll equalling Red Rum’s three Grand National wins was not over and he could be kept in training for another season to tackle the great race, depending on how he performs in the cross-country chase at Cheltenham on Wednesday.

Tiger Roll, a four-time Cheltenham Festival and dual Grand National-winning legend, was taken out of the Aintree showpiece at the latest forfeit stage last week because Gigginstown House Stud boss Michael O’Leary believed the 11-year-old was unfairly handicapped.

Currently trained by Denise 'Sneezy' Foster, who took over the reins at Cullentra House Stables from Gordon Elliott on Monday, Tiger Roll is set to tackle the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday if he runs well at Cheltenham.
