The success of Frankie Dettori on the big stage at Royal Ascot last week has swayed American owner Neil Jones to turn to the big-race jockey for his Dubai Duty Free Derby hope Knight To Behold on Saturday.

Trainer Harry Dunlop said: "His owner felt he wanted a change and had been watching Frankie ride big-race winners and wanted him to ride."

Dettori will be replacing Richard Kingscote who has partnered Knight To Behold in all four of his races, winning ther Lingfield Derby Trial before finishing 11th of 12 in the Derby at Epsom.

Jones, an American orange grower, won the St Leger with Millenary, ridden by Richard Quinn in 2000.

Dunlop added: "Frankie is so experienced in Group 1 races and has been lucky for us – he rode Green Moon a few years back and was fourth on Robin Of Navan at Sandown.

"Knight To Behold travels over to the Curragh on the ferry on Thursday and it is exciting and a privilege to have a runner in the Irish Derby – it will be my first runner at the Curragh."

Knight To Behold only beat one home at Epsom, trailing in 33 lengths behind Masar, but Dunlop is hoping new tactics with Dettori will see an improved display from the Lingfield winner, form of which was franked by Kew Gardens at Royal Ascot.

"Frankie is such a good tactician and even if there is a small field we are sure to face a team of Aidan O'Brien's. We are going to ride him a little differently to try to get him to relax so he can get home. He was doing too much at Epsom and we will be more conservative this time."
