Flat stars Trueshan and Frankie Dettori to return at Nottingham on Wednesday
Two stars of the Flat return to action on Wednesday as multiple Group 1-winner Trueshan makes his first start of the season in Nottingham's Listed Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes (4.00), in which Frankie Dettori rides for the first time in Britain this year.
Trueshan will be partnered by Hollie Doyle as the pair aim to build on last year's successes, when they landed the Group 1 Goodwood Cup Stakes and the Group 2 Long Distance Cup at Ascot.
The Alan King-trained six-year-old also won the Group 1 Qatar Prix du Cadran at Longchamp and is primed for a return to Nottingham.
King said: "I'm very happy with him. His preparation has gone extremely well and the rain seems to have come at the right time for me to get him started much earlier than last year."
Trueshan will face four rivals including the John and Thady Gosden-trained Stowell, who is to be ridden by Dettori in what will be his first mount since winning the Dubai World Cup on Country Grammer last month.
Dettori, who also tasted Meydan success with Lord North in the Dubai Turf and was presented with a lifetime achievement award from the Mayor of Pisa over the weekend, partnered Stradivarius to defeat behind Trueshan at Longchamp and Ascot.
Last season’s Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes winner Quickthorn is also entered for the Further Flight for Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer Hughie Morrison. The Pam Sly-trained Eileendover and Yaxeni complete the field.
