Find out the star names entered at next month's Dublin Racing Festival
This year's Dublin Racing Festival looks set to play host to a star-studded line-up after early entries for the two-day Irish calendar highlight at Leopardstown were revealed on Thursday.
Eight Grade 1s will unfold on the weekend of February 4 and 5, with the festival often proving the perfect curtain-raiser for the Cheltenham Festival in March.
There will be a maximum of just two British runners across the weekend's Grade 1 action, with a wealth of entries coming from the star stables of Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott.
Reigning Cheltenham Gold Cup champion A Plus Tard has not been entered in the Irish Gold Cup, meaning he is likely to go straight to the festival in March. Current market favourite Galopin Des Champs is among the early entries, as are last year's winner Conflated and Envoi Allen.
All three of Willie Mullins' Arkle hopefuls are entered in the Irish Arkle, with Appreciate It, Dysart Dynamo and El Fabiolo among the potential field of 12. Appreciate It and El Fabiolo have other options, as they are entered in the following day's Ladbrokes Novice Steeplechase. Other possibles for the Irish Arkle include James Du Berlais, the Gordon Elliott-trained Fil Dor and Joseph O'Brien's Banbridge.
The opening day will see top-level action from the offset in the 2m 6f novice hurdle, which may pit the likes of Irish Point, Hiddenvalley Lake and Grangeclare West against one another.
In the following juvenile hurdle, Triumph Hurdle favourite Lossiemouth has been entered, and she could take on Nusret, Comfort Zone and stablemate Tekao.
Honeysuckle has been entered to defend her Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle crown on the Sunday, and could come up against the Willie Mullins-trained trio of State Man, Vauban and Sir Gerhard. Honeysuckle won't face her conquerors from the Hatton's Grace Hurdle in December, with Teahupoo set to run in the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park, while there were no entries for Klassical Dream.
Stablemates Energumene, Blue Lord, Gentleman De Mee and Chacun Pour Soi could meet in the Ladbrokes Dublin Steeplechase, while Triumph Hurdle favourite Lossiemouth has been entered in the Juvenile Hurdle alongside Nusret and Grade 2 winner Comfort Zone.
Facile Vega, Impaire Et Passe, Gaelic Warrior and Quais De Paris are among eight Mullins-trained entries in the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle, and they could take on Gordon Elliott's Absolute Notions and American Mike. Unbeaten Inthepocket has been entered by Henry de Bromhead, while former Classic hopeful High Definition may run for Joseph O'Brien.
Elliott's Grade 1-winning Gerri Colombe and Mighty Potter could run in the Ladbrokes Novice Chase on day two, where Gaillard du Mesnil is entered by Mullins among 27 possibles.
The two British-trained entries in top-level races are the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Weveallbeencaught in the opening novice hurdle on day one and the Alan King-trained Sceau Royal in the Dublin Chase.
