Who has the best - and worst - draw in the 2024 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe?
The Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (3.20) takes place on Sunday and connections of the 16 runners now know details of the all-important draw. With low numbers tended to be favoured, we identify four horses with contrasting fortunes . . .
Bluestocking (stall three)
Ralph Beckett's filly was supplemented for the Arc at a cost of €120,000 on Wednesday morning and has received what looks a favourable draw in stall three.
Marienbard (2002), Treve (2014) and Waldgeist (2019) are recent Arc winners from stall three, while Tarnawa was beaten just three-quarters of a length into second from the stall in the 2021 Arc.
Bluestocking has enjoyed a fine season, claiming Group 1 wins in the Pretty Polly Stakes and in last month's Prix Vermeille, which came over the Arc course and distance, while also running second in the King George and fourth in a stellar Juddmonte International.
Look De Vega (8)
Carlos and Yann Lerner's Prix du Jockey Club winner has received significant ante-post support following glowing comments from jockey Ronan Thomas about his recent homework.
He has been drawn in eight, the same stall as last year's impressive Arc winner Ace Impact.
Look De Vega lost his unbeaten record in the Prix Niel last month when a three-and-a-half-length third behind Sosie, who renews the rivalry on Sunday.
The Niel was Look De Vega's first start since his Jockey Club win in June, however, so he is entitled to come on for the outing. Connections of Sosie will also be happy after being drawn three places lower than Look De Vega in stall five.

Shin Emperor (11)
The big hope for Japan has been viewed as a genuine Arc contender following his eyecatching run in last month's Irish Champion Stakes, when a fast-finishing third behind Economics.
His trainer Yoshito Yahagi claimed Shin Emperor had been "only 70-80 per cent ready" for his Irish assignment, which was his first start since finishing third in the Japanese Derby at Tokyo in May.
The draw has not been kind to Shin Emperor though, with no winner this century coming from his stall 11.
Mqse De Sevigne (16)
The Andre Fabre-trained mare has won all four of her starts this season – three at Group 1 level – and bids to provide her trainer with a record-extending ninth success in the Arc.
She has her stamina to prove at the 1m4f trip, however, and is drawn widest of all in stall 16.
No horse has won from a stall wider than 15 this century, while the last three horses drawn in stall 16 for a Longchamp Arc produced combined form figures of 000.
