'We want to know the truth' - Luca Cumani backs calls for geldings to run in the Arc

Luca Cumani believes the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe should move with the times and that geldings should be allowed to compete in October's prestigious Group 1 at Longchamp. 

The debate on whether it is right to restrict geldings from running in the Arc has returned to prominence this season following the emergence of two top-class middle-distance geldings trained in France.

Goliath, winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and his Francis Graffard-trained stablemate Calandagan, successful at Royal Ascot in June and runner-up to City Of Troy in International Stakes, are both ineligible to run in the Arc, although a review of the rules denying geldings the chance to compete is said to be on the agenda of French racing's governing body, France Galop.
