'He's much shorter in the betting but we can all see there isn't much between them' - the key Arc quotes to note
The Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (3.20 Longchamp), one of Europe's best races, takes place on Sunday. Here, we pick out key quotes on several of the leading contenders . . .
Look De Vega
Forecast odds: 4-1
Yann Lerner, joint-trainer: "I don't think the ground is going to be a problem for him and I think the track will suit him on the day. I'm not afraid of the trip. In the Prix Niel, he had to go to the front and he had put on quite a bit of weight in his break between the Jockey Club and that race, but he has lost that now. This will be a very different race with much more pace and he has the pace to follow. I'm confident he will accelerate over a mile and a half as he does over a mile and a quarter."
Sosie
Forecast odds: 4-1
Pierre Yves Bureau, owners' racing manager: "Everything has been going well for Sosie. He loves Longchamp and his victories in the Grand Prix de Paris and the Prix Niel have established him as the top French three-year-old colt over a mile and a half. It's now up to him to prove that he's the best of all! As far as the ground is concerned, we just want to avoid extremes of going, although he does act on soft ground."

Los Angeles
Forecast odds: 5-1
Aidan O'Brien, trainer: "He's a very big horse and he's improving physically. There's no doubt a mile and a half will be right up his alley. He won an Irish Derby right-handed like Longchamp and we've been very happy with his two preps for the Arc."
Shin Emperor
Forecast odds: 6-1
Shoya Yushida, groom: "Since his run in Ireland [in the Irish Champion] he has been good, physically and mentally. He's been moving really well and is in very good form. That was his first European run and it was a little bit difficult to know how he would perform but it was a very satisfying performance, so we think he will suit European courses. We don't mind what the ground is for him."
Al Riffa
Forecast odds: 9-1
Joseph O'Brien, trainer: "He had a busy first half of the season and that was why we went to Germany and the decision was made to freshen him up and then roll straight into the Arc. His pedigree always suggested that he would enjoy the extra distance but it really did look like he was better for it. We think it's a good opportunity to go from there and to the Arc as a fresh horse."
Bluestocking
Forecast odds: 10-1
Rossa Ryan, jockey: "She's going there with a live chance. It's brilliant how versatile she is, as it makes my job a lot easier. It was a strong running of the Vermeille – probably stronger than in recent years. You look at what the past winners like Treve and Tarnawa went on to do afterwards, so it's well within her grasp to be competitive."
Continuous
Forecast odds: 25-1
Aidan O'Brien, trainer: "We were very happy with his run in the trial [third in the Prix Foy]. It didn't suit him to make the running, but it was obviously a slow pace, and we think he will be much better in a strongly run race and we've been happy with him since. We've trained him with an autumn campaign in mind and last year's race was a slowly-run race. We always had it in our minds that hopefully he would be better this year and we would prepare him better for the race."
Sunway
Forecast odds: 40-1
David Menuisier, trainer: "He's an exciting horse to have and in my opinion he has every chance in what looks like one of the most open Arcs in a long time. Los Angeles is much shorter in the betting but we can all see there isn't much between them, especially on slower ground, which definitely won't be a negative for Sunway."
