Fallen Angel set for Porta Fortuna showdown as she makes her bow for new owners Wathnan Racing at Leopardstown
Fallen Angel will sport the Wathnan Racing silks for the first time on Saturday as she makes her return in the Matron Stakes, with the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner set for a thrilling rematch with Falmouth winner Porta Fortuna.
Trained by Karl Burke, Fallen Angel has won four of her six starts and recovered from a below-par effort when eighth in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket to blast two and three-quarter lengths clear in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh in May.
The three-year-old has not been seen on the track since but makes her return in the mile Group 1 for Wathnan Racing, having been snapped up privately from Clipper Logistics by the rapidly evolving operation which is headed by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
